Are We There Yet?

A great big ol’ stack of fresh zines!

Guys, it’s been. wild and wooly year so far and we’re just getting started.

In March, we exhibited at the San Diego Writer’s Festival with the San Diego Memoir Writer’s Association and had a fabulous time meeting new readers and writers. We hope to be back next year with lots of new and exciting things!

Writers and Artists and Editors and Interns, oh my!

We’re back at San Diego Comic-Con in Small Press aisle 1900 this weekend (7/22-7/26)! This time we’ll have all of our authors and interns and social media manager making appearances! Last year we had new stickers and free short story zines and they were such a big hit we’re bringing them back this year, with all new collectible SDCC 2026 exclusive stories crafted by five of our authors.

New Books, you say?

Why yes, we do have a book you’ve all been waiting for, the conclusion of The Vampire Scrolls Trilogy! Our Australian contingent was stuck in the Outback last year and couldn’t make it to sunny San Diego. But this year he’s in attendance and brought with him the final book of The Vampire Scrolls trilogy, The Vampire Scrolls: The Hunter’s Hour! Come say ‘hi’ and pick up a copy of this long-awaited final chapter. Or f you haven’t started the trilogy yet you may as well pick up all three!

The Vampire Scrolls 3

We’ll also have new books available soon from our other authors:

Cordell Falk will finally be presenting his novel, Craftings, to the world, and we will all be the better for it. And the first ever Mint in Box Press anthology, 9pm Poioumenon (9:01) will finally be seeing the light of day! Both of these books will be revealed at the KPBS Festival of Books in August. Selena Jones has a new, secret novel she’s working on as well, which is slated for an end of the year release.

Appearances and Upcoming Events

Though we weren’t able to secure a table at WorldCon in LA this year, the San Diego-based Mint in Box team will be exhibiting at the KPBS Festival of Books at USD on August 22nd. More information on that will be forthcoming once we have our tent location secured. We continue to look for other bookish opportunities at festivals and street fairs. We’re still in talks with local coffee shops and breweries to bring some bookish fun times to their establishments (and it’s taking longer than we anticipated, but we are still working on it!

A HUGE thank you to those who’ve reached out to us on socials. We’re thrilled to be a part of the writing community at large and we owe you a debt of gratitude for sticking with us on this wild ride.

Cheers to another year of creativity. Let’s keep it going!
